We Are a Uniquely Catholic Practice that understands each journey is incredibly distinct and complex.
We approach counseling through a multi-disciplinary, and multi-intervention framework with a Catholic lens that can complement your spiritual journey. As a practice we welcome all individuals in need of therapeutic support; and vow that no one will be turned away- and will receive the highest dignity, love, and respect that our profession affords. We work tirelessly to provide a safe space in which you can process your story, hold tensions, and wait in the unknown for transformation to occur.

I do mostly come from the Psychoanalytic tradition, which places a heavy emphasis on the complexity of each individual's mind, and how that complexity relates and connects to the individual's story. I emphasize both the person-centered, and narrative approach with each client, understanding first and foremost that no two people are alike, and that the beauty of each individual's complexity is sacred, and ought to be navigated and explored with great care and competence.
My passion as a psychotherapist is to come alongside you, enter into your story, and hold tensions with you as you navigate the challenges of your heart, mind, and life. A favorite author and Psychoanalyst of mine says "when we wait in the unknown, transformation will occur." My hope and ambition is to wait and navigate the unknown with you, so that together we can experience positive transformation and reconciliation.
When I'm not seeing clients I'm usually spending time with my wife and son. We love to spend time outdoors (fishing is preferred), playing baseball, or sitting around a bonfire. I love reading, movies, comic books, and Michigan State Basketball.

My counseling approach is grounded in the person-centered method. I believe that clients should receive empathy and unconditional positive regard from their counselor. In this way, the counselor and the client can develop an alliance. This environment will allow the client to explore and discover their unique strengths and experiences. In addition to the person-centered approach, I utilize other theoretical approaches based on the client's unique needs.
In addition to working with my individual clients, I have a strong affinity for helping couples and families. My clinical training in Gottman Method couples therapy has enabled me to help couples rekindle their friendship, find increased meaning in their relationship, and manage conflict if it should arise. This training and my personal experience as a husband, father, and foster father have prepared me to understand the complexities of family systems when working with adolescents and their parents.
My personal life centers around my family and my Catholic faith. My wife and I have six children, and the whole family is active in the church, school sports, and spending time with friends.

I seek to truly know who is sitting in front of me in every counseling session. In doing so, I aim to foster a strong relationship where one can build their efficacy and realize the changes they wish to make in their life. I believe this takes place in part through the recognition and acceptance of reality as it is, and in totality through becoming one’s present ideal self. I utilize theory and techniques from a variety of therapeutic approaches including person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I seek to personalize the experience for each client according to their needs.
I enjoy working with people of all ages from all walks of life: individuals, families, and couples. My hope for you in counseling is that you can come to know yourself, discover who you truly are, and find the peace and healing that allows you to rest. So that “you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Away from the office I am likely with my wife and daughter, whom I love very dearly. When with them, I am often going on walks, playing guitar or piano, reading a book, writing down my thoughts, or playing some sport.

I believe that the journey of counseling begins with genuine human connection, built on trust, compassion, and a shared hope for healing and wholeness. I approach counseling sessions from a person-centered lens, often utilizing aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I believe that every human is unique and has unique needs and preferences for counseling and healing. Each session is shaped by the individual in front of me and their unique struggles, hopes, and preferences.
I have experience and enjoy working with people from all stages and complexities of life. I believe in the power of accompaniment. My hope for sessions is to walk with you, moving forward with greater healing and hope. Whether you are facing loss, change, or seeking greater clarity and freedom in life, I am passionate about accompanying you through it.
Outside of clinical work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, doing anything outdoors, cooking good food, and reading good books.
The early sessions will focus mostly on getting to know your story, and your context, and building a strong therapeutic alliance. In later sessions, we will begin to integrate interventions and tailor strategies designed to help you.
